1. Why Track RC Status on Parivahan?
Whenever you purchase a new vehicle, file for an ownership transfer, request a duplicate RC, or renew an expiring registration, your application enters the workflow of your local Regional Transport Office (RTO) through the centralized Vahan 4.0 platform.
Tracking your RC status on Parivahan Sewa enables you to pinpoint the exact officer table handling your file, discover if any required documents were rejected, and obtain the India Post Speed Post tracking number once your physical Smart Card RC is dispatched.
4. Tracking India Post Speed Post Dispatch
Under MoRTH standard operating procedures, physical Smart Card RCs are not handed over the counter. They are dispatched via India Post Speed Post to the registered address to prevent fraud.
Once Stage 5 is marked as completed on Parivahan, you will see a 13-character tracking code formatted like "EM123456789IN" or "JH123456789IN".
You can visit indiapost.gov.in, paste this consignment number into the "Track N Trace" tool, and monitor the parcel arriving at your local post office.
⚠️Ensure Correct House Address
If your delivery address has changed or the postman cannot locate your residence, the RC will be returned to the RTO "R-Bag" custody. Re-dispatch requires submitting a fresh application with address proof at the RTO.
5. Resolving Pending Objections & Query Status
If your application status indicates "Defective Document", "Hold", or "Pending Query":
1. Click on the "View Objections" link inside the status dashboard.
2. The RTO scrutinizing officer will have logged an explicit remark (e.g., "Address proof blurred", "Insurance policy expired", "Form 29 signature mismatch").
3. Log in to Parivahan, select "Re-upload Documents", upload high-resolution clear PDF copies, and re-submit. You do not need to pay the application fee again.
